The Palestinian terror organization Islamic Jihad is rejecting a call from Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud ‘Abbas for a truce.
‘Abbas met with several Palestinian factions in Gaza on Tuesday night and urged them to halt firing rockets onto Israeli communities and renew a unilateral truce with Israel which was supposed to run until the end of the year, the Palestinian Media Center reported.

But Islamic Jihad spokesman Khalid Batsh reportedly accused Israel of violating the cease-fire, and said that the “continuation of resistance is what’s better for the Palestinian people.”
Factions agreed to set up a coordination committee headed by ‘Abbas, aimed at ensuring the success of the upcoming legislative elections slated for January 25.
