Washington and Jerusalem will continue discussing Israel’s plans to build a security buffer to separate the Palestinian-controlled areas from major Israeli cities.
Last week President George W. Bush expressed his unhappiness with Israel’s decision to build the buffer, despite Palestinian opposition.

However, it is believed that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has decided construction will continue.
For the time being work is progressing in the less controversial areas.
The Palestinians say Israel is expropriating Arab-owned land in order build the buffer.
They also say they fear Israel intends using the buffer as a way of creating a unilaterally approved border.
