Arbel is expected to make public her decision in the next few days.
The issue will then be considered by Attorney General Menahem Mazuz, whose say in the matter is final.
The reports suggest the investigation into the role in the affair of Deputy Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has been dropped.
Sharon’s son Gil’ad is also expected to be indicted.
