Israel’s police force has slapped a two-month ban on non-Muslims visiting the Temple Mount, just weeks after allowing them back into Judaism’s holiest site.
The police fear the annual attempt by Jewish zealots to lay the cornerstone of the third temple will lead to potential violence with Muslim worshippers at the Dome of the Rock mosque, also on the Temple Mount.

The march on the site by the Temple Mount Faithful takes place on the ninth day of the Hebrew month Av, which is next Thursday.
It is the date on which Jews commemorate the destruction of the first and second temples.
