Reporters from Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria have been taking part in an all-female conference in Algiers since Tuesday to discuss common challenges as well as freedom of press in their respective countries.
Conference participants noted that women in all three countries have difficulty reaching executive positions, according to the Algerian daily Le Matin.

The article also stated that most conference participants, women who do succeed as journalists, must give up on family life: 31% of those interviewed were married and 24% had children, according to research conducted prior to the conference.
The two-day conference was organized by the Brussels-based International Federation of Journalists and local journalism groups.
