Morocco and Saudi Arabia issued a joint statement urging the Quartet to reinstate the Road Map for peace at a summit for economic partnership in Rabat on Friday, according to Maghreb Arabe Presse (MAP).
Earlier last week, participants at the 15th Arab Globetrotters’ convention called for September 28, the day that the violent Palestinian uprising known as the “intifada” began in 2000, to become an international day of celebration and solidarity with Palestinians and Iraqis. They also announced that August 26, the final day of the conference would thereby become the “Arab day for the promotion of the message of peace,” according to MAP.
