Israel will dismantle four illegal outposts in the next few days.
The move was agreed on Sunday by the country’s Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz.
Only one of the four is populated.
However, people living in other outposts say this is no reprieve. They say they will be removed from their homes in the next few months.
The outposts have been constructed without planning permission, on strategic sites throughout Judea and Samaria – the West Bank.
The Media Line analysts say the legal upshot of the decision to evacuate is that there will be little room for appeals to the court system for injunctions to be served against the dismantling of outposts.
Jewish religious leaders in the post-1967 areas are calling on Israelis to protest the move in their thousands.
They say demonstrators must protect the outposts with their bodies.
Leaders of Israelis living in the West Bank say they will fight the decision but are urging protestors not to resort to violence against the soldiers who will be responsible for implementing the evacuation.
