Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Fradkov is scheduled to visit Egypt on Monday, to discuss the development of strategic ties between the two countries, reports the Egyptian daily Al-Ahram.
“The Russian PM and his team’s discussions will concentrate on building good relations with Egypt in all areas, especially the economic field,” said Egypt’s Minister of External Trade and Industry Rashid Muhammad Rashid in an interview with Al-Ahram. The talks come following “international economic and political changes… according with free trade policy and open markets,” added the minister.
Rashid said the talks will also deal with new ways for Egypt to benefit from Russian technology in the field of industry. “Joint industrial projects will be initiated for producing agricultural machinery and cars. We will also use the enormous Russian expertise in international research in the industry and engineering,” he added.
With regard to Egypt’s external trade, Rashid said he will discuss Egyptian exports to the Russian market, especially agricultural products.
