Israel Radio is reporting that Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Mahmoud ‘Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority, will announce an agreement to end hostilities when they meet on Tuesday.
Jordan’s King ‘Abdallah II will also attend the summit meeting hosted by Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak at Sharm A-Sheikh.

It had been previously announced that the meeting would produce a new series of security understandings between Israel and the Palestinian Authority. The details were worked out in meetings between Israeli Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz and Palestinian security chief Muhammad Dahlan, and will be approved by an Israeli ministerial committee on Thursday.
It has also been reported that Jordan and Egypt will announce plans to return ambassadors to Israel, who had been withdrawn at the onset of violence in September 2000.
