The station will be financed by Syrian businessmen, said A-Ghadiri, who denied the U.S. or any other foreign source is behind the initiative.
U.S. authorities also denied rumors according to which the U.S. had cooperated with A-Ghadiri on this project.
The station’s aims are to advocate democracy and freedom of speech, and to speak against the culture of violence in the Middle East.
The broadcasts will be received in Lebanon and Syria.
