IRAQ LIVE: ISIS Comeback in Iraq both Feared and Expected (VIDEO REPORT)

Follow daily reports from The Media Line’s Mideast bureau chief, Mohammad Al-Kassim

[Transcript] The Islamic State organization has lost territory it once controlled in Iraq, but its presence is still being felt here. The group is gathering new strength and reverting to guerilla attacks across the country. ISIS sleeper cells have carried out sniper attacks, ambushes, kidnappings and assassinations against security forces and residents, forcing hundreds of residents to flee this area near the oil-rich city of Kirkuk – although there is little concern that Islamic State will reclaim its former physical territory. Many believe the last has not been heard from ISIS. A comeback by the terrorist group is both feared and expected. From Iraq, Mohammad Al-Kassim reporting for The Media Line.
