Dr. Hanan Ashrawi is one of the best-known Palestinian officials worldwide. A member of the Palestine Liberation Organization’s Executive Committee, she served as an official spokesperson for the Palestinian delegation to the Middle East peace process beginning in 1991.
A fervent critic of U.S. President Donald Trump’s yet-unveiled “deal of the century,” Ashrawi recently wrote of the White House: “Trump’s administration does not have the tolerance or capacity to engage in fact-based dialogue. It combats meaningful discussion because it has no interest in respectful negotiations and sees no value in international engagement.”
