Israeli soldiers shot and killed a 19-year-old Palestinian man, Yazan Abu Tabikh, and wounded six others in clashes on Thursday in the West Bank city of Jenin. An Israeli military spokesman said the troops had come to Jenin to demolish the home of Ahmad Qanba, a Palestinian who was involved in the killing of Rabbi Raziel Shevach in 2018. The Palestinians reportedly shot and threw bombs at the troops, who then opened fire. In a separate incident in the same city, a Palestinian policeman, Sgt. Tarek Badwan, was shot and killed in clashes with Israeli troops. This follows an early-morning car-ramming attack in Jerusalem that targeted a group of Israeli soldiers, leaving a dozen of them, as well as two civilians, injured, including one with severe injuries and another moderately wounded. A military spokesman said the soldiers were sight-seeing in the Israeli capital after coming to the city to be sworn in upon completing their basic training. According to the Israeli police, the car-ramming is being investigated as a terror attack and the driver is still at large. βIt is just a matter of time β and not much time β until we get our hands on the attacker. Terrorism will mot defeat us; we will win,β Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said in a statement.
