Six soldiers were wounded at a military base next to Baghdad International Airport when four Katyusha rockets slammed into the base on Monday, the Iraqi military said in a statement. There was no immediate claim of responsibility in this, the latest in a series of rocket attacks on military installations over the past week. On Thursday, two Katyusha rockets were fired at Balad airbase, about 70 kilometers (40 miles) north of Baghdad. No casualties were reported. Balad hosts US forces and contractors. On Tuesday, Ain Al-Asad airbase, 190 kilometers (120 miles) west of the capital, which also hosts US forces, was struck by five rockets. No casualties were reported in that attack.
