Marib is the international recognized Yemen government’s last stronghold in the north of the country.
Also on Saturday, the Saudi Arabia-backed coalition in support of the Yemen government intercepted a Houthi drone targeting the southwestern Saudi city of Khamis Mushait, located on the border with Yemen. It is the latest of several such drone attacks by the Iran-backed Houthis on Saudi Arabia.
