The Emirates airline has cancelled a $4-billion order for several long-range A340-600 passenger planes.
A spokesman for the airline told Reuters that the airline would not be taking Airbus’ A340-600, but declined to explain the decision.

Truth and understanding
The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
They all said they cover it.
We see it.
We report with just one agenda: the truth.

The airline, which is based in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, placed an order for 12 aircraft in 2003, with options for eight more.
The airline is also reviewing its order of 43 A380 models following a two-year delay.
It was supposed to receive the planes in October, but the delay means they will not receive them before August 2008.
In the meantime, Emirates is looking into the option of leasing Boeing 777 aircraft to fill the gap caused by delays.
