BBC Exposes Years of Pay-offs From Arms Company to Prince Bandar

The BBC news program Panorama has exposed decades of secret payments from the largest British arms dealer to the Saudi royal family. It is alleged that BAE Systems paid "hundreds of millions of pounds" to Prince Bandar bin Sultan, Saudi Arabia‘s ambassador to the United States for more than 20 years. As much as $240 million per year was deposited into two Saudi embassy accounts in a Washington bank. The BBC quotes an investigator for the bank as saying that "There wasn’t a distinction between the accounts of the embassy, or official government accounts as we would call them, and the accounts of the royal family." The BBC report ties the payments to an $80-billion arms deal between Britain and Saudi Arabia.
