Dubai’s Emirates airlines has suspended flights to nine US cities beginning on Wednesday over the start of 5G wireless service. The suspension will continue until further notice, according to the company. That’s because they are concerned that 5G could cause problems with a number of different airplane systems; Wednesday is the planned date for the start of 5G mobile network services in the US. The US cities where Emirates flights have been suspended are: Boston, Chicago, Dallas Fort Worth, Houston, Miami, Newark, Orlando, San Francisco, and Seattle. Emirates flights to New York JFK, Los Angeles and Washington DC are not affected. Abu Dhabi’s Etihad Airways, Qatar Airways and Israel’s El Al airline are flying to the US as usual. Other airlines that have cancelled some US flights over the 5G deployment include Air India, All Nippon Airways, Japan Airlines, Lufthansa and British Airways.
