Iran Showcases Upgraded Emad and Qadr Missiles After June War With Israel

Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) unveiled upgraded versions of its Emad and Qadr ballistic missiles on Saturday, presenting the systems at two missile bases and displaying refurbished launchers damaged during the 12-day war with Israel in June, according to state-run IRIB TV. The IRGC said the rollout falls under the Aerospace Force’s effort to restore readiness and improve survivability after Israel’s June 13 airstrikes inside Iran targeted military and nuclear-linked facilities.

IRIB’s report said the Qadr has been fitted with anti-electronic warfare equipment intended to protect guidance and communications against jamming, while Emad received performance updates the network did not detail. In the broadcast, a senior IRGC Aerospace Force commander—unnamed for security reasons—claimed the force’s missile power is “increasing every hour.” IRIB added that newly upgraded missiles have been mounted on operational launchers.

The June exchange marked one of the most direct confrontations between the two longtime adversaries. After Israel’s strikes, Iran launched several waves of missiles and drones toward Israeli targets; both sides reported casualties and infrastructure damage. A ceasefire took effect on June 24, though each capital has warned it will respond swiftly to future attacks.

Iran’s ballistic program, long restricted by UN measures that have now lapsed or been reinterpreted, remains central to Tehran’s deterrence strategy and regional posture. Emad and Qadr are part of Iran’s medium-range arsenal that Tehran says is designed for defense and conventional deterrence. Israel views the program as a strategic threat tied to Iran’s support for allied armed groups and to potential advances in delivery systems. The IRGC presentation appears aimed at signaling that combat losses have been repaired while introducing countermeasures against electronic interference.
