In a compelling interview [1] with The Media Line, Brig. Gen. Amir Avivi suggested that a recent explosion at an Iranian port may have been the result of a deliberate Israeli strike targeting rocket fuel. Speaking with Felice Friedson, Avivi remarked that the blast, which hit fuel for ballistic rockets, “makes sense” as a planned operation rather than an accident.
Avivi cautioned against renewed US negotiations with Iran, saying Tehran views the talks as a sign of American weakness. He urged President Donald Trump to adopt a firmer stance, invoking the choice between “Churchill or Chamberlain.” According to Avivi, the only viable path if Iran fails to dismantle its nuclear infrastructure is a direct military strike.

Truth and understanding
The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
They all said they cover it.
We see it.
We report with just one agenda: the truth.

On the Gaza front, Avivi emphasized Israel’s focus on dismantling Hamas and securing the release of hostages. He revealed that Israel is currently prioritizing a hostage deal but warned that if negotiations collapse, a full-scale assault on Gaza would follow. “We want to ensure that there will never again be a terror army in the Gaza Strip,” he said.
Avivi also addressed US-Israeli coordination, calling for a large-scale air campaign against Iran, modeled after current American strikes on the Houthis. He believes such action would paralyze Iran’s capacity to retaliate and end the current conflict dynamics.
Soldier morale, he said, remains strong—as long as their objectives are clear and meaningful.
