Joint Chiefs Chairman: Even Military Strike Won’t End Iranian Nuclear Program

Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Mike Mullen drew surprised reactions when he told a Pentagon briefing on Monday that even a military strike will not end the Iranian nuclear program. Mullen said “No strike, however effective, will be in and of itself decisive," and called for pursuing economic and diplomatic options. Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has called for an energy boycott of Iran, halting the import and export of oil. He urged the international community to work around the United Nations if the Security Council will not provide the necessary leadership.
