Memorial to Gay Holocaust Victims Inaugurated in Tel Aviv

A modest construction of three triangles, the symbol of the gay community, in the center of a  Tel Aviv park is the country’s first memorial to gay Holocaust victims. An upside-down pink triangle is painted on the memorial, which the Nazis forced gay people to wear. “It’s important that people in Israel know that the Nazis persecuted others as well, not because they were Jews, but because they were gay,” Eran Lev, a gay activist and Tel Aviv city councilman said.
