Sa’ar, Zayed Meet in Abu Dhabi To Push Ceasefire, 2-State Talks

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar met with UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan in Abu Dhabi on Sunday to discuss a range of regional issues and bolster bilateral relations between the two countries. During the meeting, the ministers addressed the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip and stressed the urgent need for a ceasefire and the safe release of hostages.

Speaking through UAE state media, Abdullah emphasized the importance of all diplomatic efforts aimed at protecting civilians and enhancing the response to the crisis in Gaza. “We must work towards a ceasefire and ensure that the hostages are secured,” he said, adding that further escalation in the region must be avoided.

Sa’ar echoed the sentiment by tweeting, “There are major challenges ahead of us in the Middle East, but there are partners for a better future of cooperation and stability.” The two leaders also discussed advancing negotiations for a two-state solution and reaffirmed the UAE’s support for the Palestinian people.
