Beginning on Wednesday, the quantity of goods Israel will allow to enter the Gaza Strip will increase by 50%. Reacting to international demands to ease restrictions on the flow of necessary goods, 150 trucks will be allowed to enter each day in the first easing of the embargo. The number of trucks entering through the Kerem Shalom crossing at the southern end of Gaza will increase to 250 within weeks, and an additional 120 trucks will be permitted entry through the Karni terminal in the northern end of the Strip. Items allowed in will continue to be restricted to that which Israel believes cannot benefit Hamas militarily.
