Once again, the Islamic Republic’s Supreme Leader is undermining attempts by President Obama and his administration to sell the recently-concluded nuclear development agreement. Ayatolah Khamenei’s latest ploy – the publication of a book detailing his plan for Israel’s demise – comes as the president and his minions argue that the Ayatollah’s endless vitriol and threats against the Jewish state are merely “spin,” a reading that fails to resonate among Israelis anywhere along the political spectrum. Information about the book, “Palestine,” was reported by Amir Taheri in the New York Post. Also true to Khamenei form, the book condemns the United States, which is referred to as “the great Satan.” The Ayatollah’s recipe for the demise of Israel – which he calls “a cancerous tumor” — is long-term low level warfare that will ultimately convince Israelis to leave their homes and country.
