Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture launched an “Industrial Heritage” competition on Sunday, the aim being to create the first national database of the kingdom’s industrial sites. Running from July 14 to October 6, participants are to complete three types of tasks: submit photos or videos of the sites, tell a story about an event that affected the industry, and document the site’s story by researching its history and impact on the industry. The competition is open to all citizens and residents, and prizes will total over $250,000.
