Israel to expand Green Classroom pilot program

Israel announced that it will expand its pilot program known as Green Classroom, which will reduce the time that students exposed to someone with the coronavirus must remain in quarantine. The program, currently working in grades 1-12, will be expanded to kindergarten and day cares as well and will be expanded to cities classified as yellow, in addition to green. The program allows students exposed to someone with COVID-19 to return to school after receiving a negative test result. Prior to the program, an entire class would require a week of quarantine if a student or teacher came to school with the coronavirus. Children in the schools particpating in the pilot program can not come in to contact with those not in the program in afterschool activities. The expanded pilot program will begin on October 24.
