Friedson: Terror on US Soil Traces Back to Hamas

In a hard-hitting opinion column, journalist Felice Friedson argues that the recent surge in antisemitic violence—from firebombings in Colorado to vandalism in Paris—can be traced directly to Hamas, not simply to slogans like “Free Palestine.” Friedson connects the rise in global hostility toward Jews to a broader campaign of manipulation, misinformation, and terror orchestrated by Hamas since October 7.

The piece details how the phrase “Free Palestine” has been used to obscure calls for violence, allowing supporters of Hamas to exploit public sympathy while inciting unrest and targeting Jews abroad. Friedson singles out the recent attempted firebombing of a Jewish march in Colorado by Egyptian national Mohamed Sabry Soliman, who had been planning the attack for over a year, as part of a disturbing pattern. That attack, which injured 12 people, was carried out by a man in the US illegally.

Elsewhere, two Jews were murdered in Washington, DC, and France’s national Holocaust memorial was defaced—acts Friedson sees as symptoms of a global intifada directed by Hamas. The article also points to groups like Within Our Lifetime and protesters at Columbia University who, she says, echo the rhetoric and aims of Hamas, whether they admit it or not.

Friedson calls out Hamas not only for terrorism but for its exploitation of Palestinians, hoarding aid, and turning Gaza into a launchpad for global violence. She ends with a clear call to hold Hamas—not just slogans—responsible for the worldwide wave of hate and bloodshed.
