2nd Person Dies in Wake of Jerusalem Bus Stop Attacks

A second person has died as a result of the coordinated bombing attacks at two bus stops near entrances to Jerusalem. Tadese Tashume Ben Ma’ada was critically injured in the bomb attack on Wednesday and remained in critical condition at Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem before succumbing to his injuries on Saturday. Ben Ma’ada, who came to Israel from Ethiopia more than two decades ago was married and a father of six.

Prime Minister Yair Lapid offered his condolences to Ben Ma’ada’s family and friends on Twitter, saying “the heart is broken by grief.”

Prime Minister-designate Binyamin Netanyahu also sent condolences to Ben Ma’ada’s family via Twitter. “Last week, I visited his dedicated family, who wrapped him with love, and the doctors who bravely fought for his life. I embrace the family at this difficult hour. May he rest in peace,” he tweeted.

Aryeh Shchupak, 16, a dual Israeli and Canadian citizen, also was killed in the attack.
