3 Killed in Terrorist Shooting at Jerusalem Bus Stop

Three people were killed and at least six were injured, several seriously, when two Hamas gunmen armed with an M-16 assault rifle and a handgun opened fire on a group of people waiting at a bus stop near the entrance to Jerusalem this morning.

Medics from the Magen David Adom ambulance service declared the death of a 24-year-old woman at the scene. An elderly man and a woman were taken to a hospital in Jerusalem, where their deaths were confirmed.

Security camera footage from the scene showed a car driving up to the bus stop on Weizman Street around 7:40 am, then the two gunmen getting out of the vehicle, raising their weapons, and shooting at the people at the bus stop, who began to flee in all directions. Police said that two off-duty soldiers and an armed civilian who were in the area shot and killed the two terrorists.

The Shin Bet security agency later confirmed that the pair had previously been jailed as Hamas members and named them as brothers Murad Namr, 38, and Ibrahim Namr, 30.

The attack comes as the cease-fire between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, which took effect last Friday, was extended for another day.
