Abbas to US: Gaza Cannot Be Separated from Palestinian State

Seeks further US intervention and mediation in Israeli-Palestinian conflict

Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas met with White House Middle East coordinator Brett McGurk and US Assistant Secretary of State for Middle East Affairs Barbara Leaf in Ramallah.

During the meeting, Abbas urged the Biden administration to exert pressure on Israel to cease its aggression against Palestinians and to facilitate the rapid delivery of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

He stressed that Gaza is an integral part of the Palestinian state and firmly rejected any attempts by Israeli authorities to separate it. Abbas emphasized that there is no military or security solution for the situation in Gaza, highlighting the need for diplomatic and humanitarian approaches.
