Hamas Submits New Demands in Hostage Deal; Israel To Evaluate Ahead of Response

Israel announced on Wednesday that it had received a response from Hamas concerning the most recent proposal for a truce and hostage release. Israeli officials are currently reviewing the document, with further replies to be communicated through mediators.

The Prime Minister’s Office, in a statement relayed by the Mossad, indicated that international mediators had presented Hamas’ comments on the proposed hostage deal. “Israel is evaluating the remarks and will convey its reply to the mediators,” the statement read, pointing to an ongoing and delicate negotiation process.

Hamas confirmed its submission of the latest demands, with a spokesperson expressing the group’s desire to halt the conflict. “We are eager to reach an agreement to stop the war, and our communication with the mediators continues,” the statement from Hamas outlined. It accused Israel of duplicity in the negotiation process while proclaiming its own flexibility.
