IDF Condemns Soldiers for Transporting Palestinian Detainee on Vehicle Hood

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) issued a statement on Sunday condemning soldiers seen in a recent video transporting a Palestinian detainee who is strapped to the hood of a military vehicle in the West Bank.

The incident took place in Jenin, a city in the northern West Bank, following an Israeli raid and shootout that led to the suspect’s apprehension.

The suspect was identified as Mujahed Azmi, a resident of Jenin.

Responding to the widely circulated video showing Azmi tied to the top of a jeep driving past multiple ambulances, the IDF confirmed the allegations and stated that the responsible soldiers had violated military protocol.

The military added that the incident was under investigation and would be addressed promptly, assuring that the “conduct of the forces in the video of the incident does not conform to the values” of the IDF.

The IDF noted that the suspect was later treated by Red Crescent medical personnel.

Azmi was injured during the initial arrest raid. His family claims that they requested he be transported in an ambulance due to his injuries, but he was instead tied to the hood of the vehicle.
