IDF Expands Ground Offensive in Southern Gaza, Targets Rafah Camp
The Israel Defense Forces announced it has widened its ground activities in the southern Gaza Strip, advancing into the Shaboura refugee camp in Rafah. According to military statements, the troops destroyed what they termed “terror infrastructure” in the area.
Simultaneously, IDF units continue operations along Gaza’s northern coastline and in the central Netzarim Corridor, where they claim to have disrupted command centers used by Hamas to plan and launch attacks against soldiers and civilians.

Alongside the ground offensive, airstrikes struck multiple positions across Gaza in recent hours, hitting sites associated with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad. The IDF did not provide information on potential casualties but emphasized that its campaign aims to eliminate hostile terror capabilities and safeguard Israeli territory.
Military sources say the expansion of operations follows intelligence suggesting that Hamas has reconstituted command infrastructure in Rafah and other southern areas, prompting a push to dismantle these networks. No timeline has been provided for how long the intensified military effort will continue.
