IDF Finds Mock Israeli Towns in Raid on Hamas Training Compound
The Israel Defense Forces announced on Sunday that troops from the Givati Brigade executed a successful raid on the main headquarters once used by Hamas’ Khan Yunis Brigade.
The facility, otherwise known as the al-Qadsia compound, housed the office of Mohammad Sinwar, brother of Hamas’ leader in the Gaza Strip, Yahya Sinwar.
Upon entering the base, Israeli soldiers discovered and neutralized explosive traps left by Hamas operatives. Additionally, the IDF reported that they faced fire from entrenched Hamas gunmen positioned near the compound.
The IDF continued that, after eliminating the Hamas gunmen via sniper fire, tank shelling, and airstrikes, soldiers found a training facility in the facility that was used to prepare for the October 7 attack. This training ground reportedly included mock Israeli communities, including models simulating kibbutzim gates, IDF bases, and military vehicles, as well as a large weapons workshop.
