Israel Retaliates After Hizbullah Missile Kills 2 in Northern Village

A missile strike from Lebanon on Sunday claimed the lives of two Israeli civilians—a 76-year-old woman, Mira Ayalon, and her 40-year-old son Barak Ayalon—in Kfar Yuval, a northern Israeli village. The missile, identified as an anti-tank projectile, was launched amid escalating tensions between Israel and the Iranian-backed Hizbullah.

Following the attack, Israeli military forces have launched retaliatory strikes against Hizbullah targets in Lebanon. This marks a significant escalation in hostilities, being the most intense exchange since the 2006 war between Israel and Hizbullah.

Earlier on Sunday, Israeli forces reported engaging and killing four Lebanese gunmen near the border, approximately 15 kilometers from the site of the missile strike. The combatants were equipped with rifles, anti-tank missiles, grenades, and RPGs. Their affiliation remains unconfirmed.
