Israeli Troops Kill 3 Wanted Palestinians in Arrest Raid in Jenin
The brother of the Palestinian terrorist who killed three in a shooting attack in Dizengoff Square in Tel Aviv was killed, along with two other wanted men, in an Israel Defense Forces arrest operation in Jenin in the West Bank. The IDF forces early on Wednesday morning surrounded a home belonging to the Hazem family in order to arrest the suspects, and were attacked with explosives; the soldiers returned fire, killing the wanted men.
Rahman Hazem, the brother of the terrorist who committed the Dizengoff shooting attack in April, and Ahmad Alawneh, a member of the Palestinian Authority’s security services, were wanted for planning future terror attacks. The third man killed in the raid was identified as Muhammad al-Wana. Ten other Palestinians were reported injured in the raid.
The IDF confirmed the incident in a statement and said that three other wanted men were arrested in raids overnight Wednesday. No Israeli troops were injured in the attack. The arrest operation is part of the IDF’s Operation Break the Wave meant to round up Palestinians suspected of terrorism against Israel.
