Miran Family Condemns Government as New Hamas Video Shows Hostage in Gaza Tunnel
The family of Israeli hostage Omri Miran condemned the government on Wednesday, calling it a “disgrace” that he remains in Hamas captivity in Gaza just as the nation marks Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Their emotional statement followed the release of a new Hamas propaganda video showing Miran, who was abducted from Kibbutz Nahal Oz on October 7, 2023, walking through a tunnel and lighting a candle to mark his 48th birthday. The family approved the publication of a still image from the video but asked that the footage itself not be broadcast.

The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
They all said they cover it.
We see it.
We report with just one agenda: the truth.

“On the eve of Holocaust Remembrance Day, on which it’s customary to say ‘never again,’ there is an Israeli citizen crying out for help in a Hamas tunnel. This is a disgrace for the State of Israel,” the family said through the Hostages and Missing Families Forum.
Miran is among 59 hostages still believed to be held in Gaza, including the remains of at least 35 individuals confirmed dead by the Israel Defense Forces. He had previously appeared in another Hamas video in April 2024. During the last ceasefire, his family received confirmation from released hostages that he was still alive as of last July.
Hamas has released several hostage videos throughout the war in what Israel and rights groups have described as psychological warfare.
