Palestinian Teenager Killed After Attempting Stabbing Attack
A Palestinian teenager attempting to carry out a stabbing attack was killed by Israeli soldiers late Tuesday night, Palestinian and Israeli sources said.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, 15-year-old Mohammed Al-Za’arir was killed in as-Samu village near the southern West Bank city of Hebron. In its statement, the ministry said that it received the information from the Hebron District Coordination Liaison Office, an Israeli office responsible for coordinating civilian affairs in the West Bank.
Israel Radio reported that Al-Za’arir had attempted to stab an Israeli soldier who stopped him at a bus station. Another Israeli soldier then shot at Al-Za’arir, killing him.
Palestinian security sources said Israeli forces blocked Palestinian ambulances from reaching Al-Za’arir.
Al-Za’arir was the second Palestinian killed by Israeli forces in the West Bank on Tuesday. Twenty-year-old Mohannad al-Mazraa, who opened fire outside a shopping mall in the Israeli settlement of Ma’ale Adumim on Tuesday afternoon, wounding six, was shot and killed by an off-duty Israeli police officer while attempting to flee the scene.
