Report: US Warns of Imminent Iranian Attack on Israel

There are concerns that Iran could launch strikes involving high-precision missiles and drones targeting military and government sites in Israel, a report by Bloomberg revealed on Wednesday, citing sources familiar with US and Israeli intelligence assessments,

The heightened fears come in the wake of an alleged Israeli strike in Syria on April 1, which reportedly killed two Iranian generals among several Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officers. Iran has vowed retaliation for the attack, further escalating the already volatile situation in the region.

One source quoted in the report emphasized that it’s not a matter of if but when Tehran will carry out its threat against Israel.

In response to the escalating tensions, General Michael Kurilla, head of the US Central Command, is expected to visit Israel on Thursday for consultations with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant and other officials to discuss the threat of an Iranian attack.

US and Israeli officials have been in contact over the past few days, preparing for a possible response to the alleged Israeli strike in Damascus. President Joe Biden reiterated America’s commitment to Israel’s security in the face of threats from Iran, emphasizing that the US will do all it can to protect Israel. Secretary of State Antony Blinken echoed President Biden’s sentiments during a call with Gallant, reaffirming US support for Israel against threats from Tehran.
