Terrorist Attacks in Central Israel Leave One Dead, 17 Injured

In a series of coordinated terrorist attacks in Ra’anana on Monday afternoon, a 70-year-old woman was killed and 17 people were wounded. The assailants, identified as Muhammad Zaidat, 44, and Ahmed Zaidat, 24, both from Hebron, carried out combined ramming and stabbing assaults in various city locations.

Israel Police confirmed that the terrorists began their rampage by stabbing a woman. Subsequently, one of the attackers stole a car and executed ramming attacks, switching vehicles cars after each crash. The attacks left two people slightly injured on Haroshet Street, while a 66-year-old man was seriously stabbed.

Ahuza Street, the city’s main thoroughfare, witnessed the gravest impact, with a 34-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy among those severely injured with head wounds. Seven of the injured were children.

First responders from Magen David Adom (MDA) described the scene as “very difficult,” attending to numerous injured of varying degrees.

Police Commissioner Kobi Shabtai highlighted the rapid response and eventual arrest of the terrorists, who entered Ra’anana illegally. Following the attacks, local schools were locked down, and residents were urged to stay indoors.
