Aboul-Gheit underscored the need for international initiatives to benefit Sudan and its people, working in cooperation with the Sudanese government. He emphasized the importance of arrangements to address the escalating humanitarian crisis in areas of conflict through agreed cease-fires.
This dialogue took place against the backdrop of a 72-hour truce between the Sudanese army and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, which began on Sunday. The deadly conflict, which erupted on April 15, has resulted in hundreds of civilian deaths and millions of displaced people.
