Iran Signals Willingness for Comprehensive Cooperation With Kuwait

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian expressed Iran’s eagerness for comprehensive cooperation with Kuwait in a Sunday evening phone conversation with Kuwait’s newly appointed foreign minister, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya. The discussion was part of Amir-Abdollahian’s congratulations on Al-Yahya’s new role, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Monday.

During the call, Al-Yahya recognized the existing “good” bilateral relations between the two countries and discussed Kuwait’s stance on enhancing and developing its relationship with Iran. The conversation signifies a potential new chapter in diplomatic relations between Iran and Kuwait.

Furthering these diplomatic efforts, Amir-Abdollahian also met with Marzouq Al-Hubaini, the head of the Iran-Kuwait Parliamentary Friendship Group, in Tehran on Sunday. The meeting focused on regional issues and the prospects of bilateral cooperation, underscoring a mutual interest in deepening the ties between the two nations.
