Iran Strikes Israel With 300 Drones and Missiles; Biden Urges Restraint

Iran launched a massive aerial assault on Israel, deploying around 300 drones and missiles. The offensive, reported by Simcha Pasko, comes as retaliation for an alleged Israeli strike on Iran’s embassy in Damascus, which killed several members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), under the command of spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari, mobilized aerial defenses that successfully intercepted the majority of these attacks, including a ballistic missile that unfortunately resulted in injuries to a young girl near Arad.

The barrage targeted multiple sites and included 170 drones, 30 cruise missiles, and 120 ballistic missiles, with Israeli defenses intercepting 99% of the weapons. Despite the high interception rate, some missiles caused minor damage to the Nevatim Airbase in southern Israel.

As the situation unfolded, Israel took preventive measures by closing its airspace and putting public gatherings on hold. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other officials are currently strategizing possible responses, signaling potential further military actions.

Meanwhile, the US has expressed a cautious stance on the conflict. President Joe Biden, while reiterating support for Israel, has advised against an Israeli counterattack on Iran, favoring instead a coordinated diplomatic response with G7 leaders. The UN Security Council has been called upon by Israel to condemn the attack and designate the IRGC as a terrorist organization.

This significant development in Middle Eastern geopolitics is unfolding rapidly, with potential implications for regional stability. For a deeper dive into the details and ongoing updates, readers are encouraged to read the full report.
