Islamabad Airport Temporarily Shuts Runway During Late-Night High Alert
Outbound flight operations at Islamabad International Airport were halted for just over half an hour late Tuesday night following a high alert issued by aviation authorities for unspecified reasons. The alert began at 11:48 p.m. local time on April 29 and ended at 12:21 a.m. on April 30, disrupting departures but not affecting incoming flights.
According to officials speaking on condition of anonymity, boarding procedures were paused for three international departures—Pakistan International Airlines flights PK-233 to Dubai and PK-287 to Doha, and Airblue flight PA-210, also to Dubai. The nature of the alert has not been publicly disclosed.

Truth and understanding
The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
They all said they cover it.
We see it.
We report with just one agenda: the truth.

Authorities said that all standard safety protocols were followed and that operations resumed shortly after the alert was lifted. The airport remained open to arriving flights throughout the incident.
Islamabad International Airport, one of Pakistan’s primary aviation gateways, regularly handles both domestic and international traffic. Though the cause of the alert remains unclear, the brief disruption raised concerns among passengers, especially given the lack of public information during the closure.
No delays were reported once the airport resumed full operations after midnight. Officials emphasized that the temporary suspension was a precautionary measure intended to safeguard passengers and crew, and that all necessary procedures were followed during the alert.
