Islamic State Attack on Military Bus in Syria Kills 14 Soldiers
A devastating attack by Islamic State (IS) militants on a military bus in Syria’s Homs Province resulted in the death of 14 soldiers and wounded 19 others on Tuesday. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that the ambush occurred near the T-3 oil station in the eastern countryside of Homs, a remote desert region.
The military personnel were traveling on the bus when they were targeted by IS attackers. Following the incident, the injured soldiers were promptly transported to the Tadmur Hospital in Palmyra for medical treatment.
This attack is part of a recent surge in IS activities in the Syrian desert, particularly in areas under government control. Throughout the early part of 2024, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has noted a significant increase in attacks by the Islamic State.
