Israel Begins Ground Raids on Hezbollah Targets Near Lebanon Border
Early Tuesday, Israel launched “limited, localized, and targeted” ground raids against Hezbollah near the Israel-Lebanon border, marking the beginning of a long-anticipated ground incursion. Supported by air and artillery strikes, Israeli paratroops and elite forces targeted Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon, identified as posing an immediate threat to northern Israeli communities. The move follows last week’s airstrikes that eliminated Hezbollah’s leader, Hassan Nasrallah, significantly weakening the group but escalating tensions across the region. Israel aims to secure the border and allow displaced citizens to return home.
