Jordan Hosts Multinational Eager Lion Military Drills With 33 Nations
The Eager Lion military exercises, hosted annually by the Jordan Armed Forces, commenced this Sunday with participation from ground, naval, and air forces of 33 nations, including the US and 10 Arab countries. The exercises, which will continue through May 23, are taking place across various locations in Jordan, confirmed Mustafa al-Hayari, director of Military Media at the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army.
At a press conference, Al-Hayari detailed that the drills are designed to achieve strategic, operational, and training objectives, fostering a shared understanding among the nations about cross-border threats like terrorism and the spread of destructive weaponry. The exercises are comprehensive, covering the planning and execution of combat operations on land, at sea, and in the air, along with logistical support, and even preparing for natural disasters and pandemics.

Truth and understanding
The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
They all said they cover it.
We see it.
We report with just one agenda: the truth.

Highlighting the neutrality of the exercise, Al-Hayari emphasized that the drills are not connected to any current regional developments.
Adding to the discussion, Herbert Lee Breard, chief of the Exercises Division at the US Central Command, described this year’s Eager Lion as “new and different.” Breard underscored the drill’s emphasis on strengthening people-to-people ties, partnerships, and innovation, particularly in humanitarian responses to natural disasters.
