Libya, UNICEF Partner To Enhance Child Protection
The Libyan government, in collaboration with the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), has developed a comprehensive work plan to fortify child protection systems and promote justice for children across Libya. This initiative was finalized on Sunday with the Interior Ministry.
The plan is designed to reform Libya’s national child justice system, aligning it with the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. According to a UNICEF statement, the strategy includes providing technical assistance and training and establishing necessary structures and processes to ensure a rights-based approach to child protection.
This collaboration between UNICEF and the Libyan Ministry of Interior is a landmark step toward safeguarding the rights and well-being of children in Libya. It focuses on enhancing the ministry’s services related to child protection, marking a vital advancement in the nation’s commitment to upholding children’s rights.
