Over 30 Muslim Scholars at Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mosque to Help With Rituals

More than 30 Muslim scholars are working around the clock at Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mosque in Mecca to answer questions posed by worshippers regarding correctly performing the rituals of the Umrah pilgrimage and to give fatwas, or a formal legal ruling on a point of Islamic law. Interpreters also will be available to help the diverse worshippers get their answers; languages available are English, Urdu, Persian, French, Turkish, Hausa and Bengali. Worshippers also can get answers from guidance robots placed at the mosque, or from a toll-free number. The new services come in the run up to the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. The number of scholars available will be increased during Ramadan, The New Arab reported.
